October Calendar
October Calendar | Harper’s Hut Shaved Ice | Tulsa, Oklahoma
Did you know October is Adopt a Shelter Dog Month, American Pharmacist Month, Apple Jack Month, Awareness Month, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Clergy Appreciation Month, Computer Learning Month, Cookie Month, Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Eat Country Ham Month, International Drum Month, Lupus Awareness Month, National Diabetes Month, National Pizza Month, National Vegetarian Month, National Popcorn Popping Month, Sarcastic Month, and Seafood Month. Wouldn’t it be fitting to join the October Calendar and make it National Shaved Ice Month?
Maybe you celebrate your month in a weekly fashion. Remember week 1 Get Organized & Customer Service, week 2 Fire Prevention and Pet Peeve Week, and week 3 Pastoral Care Week. Yes, it is acceptable to break your October Calendar into weeks!
I bet you didn’t know October 5 was Do Something Nice Day and the 11th is Its My Party Day. Of course, you know the 12th is Columbus Day. As I said, the October Calendar is a perfect place to declare National Shaved Ice Month. I mean Christopher Columbus would approve. I guess the closest thing would be the 14th, which is National Dessert Day. So there it is. On October 14, we declare a state of Shaved Ice Emergency in Tulsa. On this day, we declare all that can, should eat shaved ice!
Of course, Halloween is this month. What would October be without pumpkins, bales of hay, candy, children, spooky stories, folklore, and shaved ice? No really that last one I added. But it’s fitting. I pulled this information from here.
