In June of 2014, something happened in Sand Springs, Oklahoma. A new business moved in, a small snow cone stand, on Charles Page boulevard in front of the Cinema 8. Unlike other snow cone stands, Harper’s was about more than just a simple snow cone. It was about family. The idea for Harper’s Hut came to William Nozak in 2014 and he and his wife were soon joined in their new exploit by friend and business partner Daniel Nix. Sandites flocked to this new snow cone stand for many reasons and many were soon praising it as the best shaved ice in Sand Springs. Within two months, Harper’s Hut was voted by the Tulsa World readers as “The Best in the World.”

First off I would like to talk about the look of Harper’s Hut. Their windows are by far the most unique aspect. They are slanted and they make you feel like you are at some kind of amusement park. The huts have a tiki theme and the roof is covered in bamboo. Sand springs shaved ice will never be the same now that Harper’s Hut is in the mix.
When I first went to Harper’s Hut I wasn’t expected to be treated like the most important person in the world. Their employees were very helpful at explaining how the different flavors tasted. I would definitely recommend going and checking the hut out for yourself. It truly is something that you have to see for yourself. Oh and you should bring the family as well.
If you have a family Harper’s Hut is the place to go. They have a pretty good variety of games and toys for the little ones. The kids play football, frisbee, hula hoop, more. The fun never seems to end when you are at the hut. Music is playing over the speakers and are kids laughing and playing games.
