We’ve been privileged to work with Snowie 3000’s (fast but mauls the ice too fast sometimes making it clumpy and hard), Hatsuyuki’s (best shaved ice for ice cubes, if you use the right ice cubes), Swan Block Shavers (amaaaaazing – best machine on the market), and many other machines are great. Southern snow block is great as well. We’ve worked with wet ice, dry ice, block ice, cube ice, awful ice, and amazing ice. What’s a sno ball? Sno ball is the New Orleans name for shaved ice. Although we prefer to call our product shaved ice, indeed, it is no different then a sno ball. Even the antiquated name snow cone can refer to our products. We however do have incredibly soft shaved ice, so whatever you call it, it’s going to be greatness!

What would be the best ice shaver Tulsa has to offer? There are several amazing block shavers in the world. One is not NSF rated and can only be found in the Caribbean, of course. The others are NSF rated and can be found on the mainland. First off, we consider the Swan SI-100E Block Ice Shaver to be the best on the market. There are many vendors out there, so pick the best vendor that you can build a long-term relationship with. Secondly, we believe there is a tie between the Southern Snow Block Shaver and the Snow Wizard Block Shaver. Make sure you shop around before you go with my links; I am purely showing you what the differences are.
Block Ice shavers require an extremely expensive block ice freezer; they range from $2,000-$10,000 but they are the best ice shaver shaver Tulsa has. Require tons of space and the ice must freeze and cure for 2 days. This requires much more backend work then a cube shaver. But if you are in a market that sells block ice, you’re in luck! Or if you are in doors, where you can make the blocks from tap water, same thing, in luck! Do not make them from hose water! Yuck. Much more difficult to make with regularity and in high volume when working out of a small box-type snow cone stand or a mobile, but we see people do it all the time.
When it comes to ice cube shavers, you have two options. Hatsuyuki HC-8E or the Snowie 3000. Once again, I have purchased from the vendors behind the links, but I do not endorse them in anyway. If you only want speed then go with the Snowie 3000. Harper’s Hut owns eight machines as of this writing, one of them is a Snowie 3000, and we have never been able to get the ice quality to be as soft as the Hatsuyuki. We own several battery and electricity powered Hatsuyuki and the quality is the same. The only commercial shaved ice machine that can produce the best ice. It is mobile and can use ice cubes from just about anywhere. Do not use rabbit pellet ice if you want the best ice! The best ice shaver with all things considered is the non-NSF rated machine in the islands, second best Swan SI-100E, and third best Hatsuyuki. These other machines have huge gains in certain areas, such as speed and quality. So make sure you know what you are seeking in your product, before purchasing a line of $1,700 machines! Ultimately, Harper’s Hut has the best ice shaver Tulsa has ever seen.
